When she graduated in 1992 Amanda Bossard began her studies in marine biology in Anchorage at Alaska Pacific University. Bossard started her career as a commercial seafood expert in 1999 when she began working on board the F/V Sunset the 65' halibut schooner turned into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan. She has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard is currently is married to Aritan and they've come together to prove their claim to the market. They support conservative and sustainable renewable resource management. Otolith was founded at the time of Philadelphia by Bella Bossard and is currently the mother of two children with ages of 3 and 1 Bossard. Otolith's name is a fond reminder of Bossard's intimate understanding of the biology of fish and her husband's many connections in the business of fishing. It is common for them to be apart for five months in a row while they pursue objectives in the areas of environmental and financial that reflect their commitment and independence wherever they live. Since July of 2016, Bossard and her daughter Isabella aged 12 and son Andre age 10 are back in Southeast Alaska annually each summer for deckhand work throughout the harvest of wild salmon in the summer. Hooks and lines are used to catch their fish after which they join Aritan to sell to local processors for a period of two months. Then they continue to increase their direct seafood sales through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard was hired as a News 12 Anchor/MMJ and News 12 Brooklyn in November 2015.
